The Second Annual Purple Run Was A HUGE Success!!
Are you a runner that tracks every run? Or every other run?
Are you someone who walks 3.1 miles on a regular basis?
Do you track your time?
Whether you are a serious runner/walker, or just in it for fun, this event is for you! The Purple Run/Walk For A Cure is an event that is designed at it’s core to be a fundraiser for Relay For Life, The American Cancer Society’s Signature Fundraising Event. So now you can combine that fundraising aspect with something you already do, running or walking!
This event started in the Spring of 2013 as a joint effort between two Relay for Life teams from the Relay For Life of Hampshire County. And now we are growing and have become an annual event! Every year we will have another run/walk to raise more money for the Relay For Life.
So lace up your sneakers, and gear up! It’s time to do it again! The Purple Run Is ON!
Our first event took place on April 21st, 2013 at Look Park in Northampton. At that event, we expected to see (or hoped is better) at least 75 folks come on down for the event and help us FIGHT BACK against cancer by raising awareness and funding for the necessary research to find a cure!! By the time we actually started the race itself, we had an amazing 111 participants registered for the run/walk! At the 2nd Annual Purple Run, we had an incredible 135 on April 13th, 2014!
